Tue, 30. Apr 2024, 19:30-21:00 A Place of our own – and how to cope with October 7 and the Gaza War Conversation between photographer Iris Hassid and director Hanno Loewy (in English Language)

In 2014, Israeli photographer Iris Hassid (*1965) began photographing four young Palestinian women with Israeli citizenship and talking to them about their ambitions, friendships, families and their political and social commitment. The result is an exhibition that shows the lives these young women have led since they left their Arab towns and villages to go to university in Tel Aviv. Hanno Loewy will talk to Iris Hassid about the project, her relationship to the four women portrayed and the living situation of Palestinian Israelis today, but also about the current situation in Israel, the occupied territories and Gaza after October 7, which, like the ongoing war in Gaza, seems to have made hopes for a peaceful solution to the conflict impossible.
