Organisation/Mission Statement
The Association of the Jewish Museum Hohenems

Responsible for the operation and personell of the ‘Jewish Museum of Hohenems’ is the “Jewish Museum of Hohenems Association,” which was established in 2002. Its members represent the municipality of Hohenems, the State of Vorarlberg, and the “Association of Friends of the Jewish Museum of Hohenems,” which in 2002 evolved from the old “Museumsverein” of 1986.
The Museum’s association appoints the director, controls the appropriate use of funds and decides – in cooperation with the director – on the basic strategic development of the museum.

The Jewish Museum of Hohenems Association
The ‘Jewish Museum of Hohenems Association’ operates a museum as defined by the statutes of ICOM (International Council of Museums). It serves as a corporate body in order to assure independent operation and further development in regard to subsidisers, sponsors and patrons of the museum. Therefore, the institutional association fulfills mainly strategic tasks, while the museum’s director is responsible for the operational obligations.

The board of the association is formed by following members:
Dr. Romuald Kopf, chairman
Mayor Dieter Egger, vice-chairman (City of Hohenems)
Claudia Voit, vice-chairman (State of Vorarlberg)
Mag. Susanne Fink, secretary (State of Vorarlberg)
Mag. Brigitte Plemel, vice-secretary (Association of Friends)
MA Elisa Rosegger, treasurer (City of Hohenems)
Dr. Severin Holzknecht, vice-treasurer

The museum’s association and management are supported by the Academic board  as well as ideologically, financially and by volunteers by the “Association of Friends of the Jewish Museum of Hohenems” .
Descendants of Jews from Hohenems in 1998 founded the Association “American Friends of the Jewish Museum Hohenems”  and support projects and communicate about the museum with the various families.
