Do., 21. Mai 2026, 11:00-14:00 Uhr Of the Table. A participatory installation & performative gathering. Initiated by: Hori Izhaki In collaboration with the University of Innsbruck, Unit for Peace and Conflict Studies & developed together with the MA students: Ekaterina Vodopianova, Alma Stastny, Christian Gessl, Antje-Anniek Hipkins

You are warmly invited to become part of a living experiment — at the intersection of art, discussion, victual and community. Of the Table is a participatory installation drawing from the spirit of the Greek symposium, the traditions of the Arabic meal, Jewish holiday eve and the cultural practice of dining rituals. A long sheet of thin, delicate paper — one that absorbs casual actions and solubles — is placed on the ground. Upon it, three essential substances converge: text, food, and people. The food is chosen and prepared to engage directly with the topic — functioning at once as nourishment, material and stimulator. The text provides the intellectual ground on which the gathering stands. Guests and experts are seated together and rather than having a designated speaker, the format encourages an open conversation among all participants. What emerges is not a work of art in the conventional sense — it is an imprint. A smear of food, a wine that spills, a wrinkle tracing a movement: all of it is recorded as the event runs its course. The stained sheet of paper remains as a map, a memorial of a shared action. We look forward to your presence — and to what the afternoon will leave behind on the paper. Photo: Hori Izhaki
