The Grüninger Dossier

Since January 31, 2014 Alain Gsponer’s movie about Paul Grüninger is shown in the cinemas. Paul Grüninger, Swiss police officer in St. Gall, helped more than 3000 Jews in 1938 to escape into Switzerland against the orders he received from Bern. Please find information about the film here .
Cinemas in Vorarlberg offer screenings for school classes. These performances can be combined with guided tours organized by the Jewish Museum Hohenems.

New educational programs of the Jewish Museum
The Jewish Museum invites groups to learn more about the story of escape both in the permanent exhibition and on location along the border between Austria and Switzerland, only 20 minutes by foot from the museum. Confronting chosen biographies the subject of escape and helping refugees becomes vivid – as much as the references to current debates in Europe. More information about these programs you find here .
